French pianist Hélène Grimaud was admitted to the Paris Conservatoire at the age of 13 and she won the performance award just three years later. A student of György Sándor and Leon Feisher, she made her recital debut in 1987 in Tokyo. That same year, Daniel Barenboim invited her to play with the Orchestre de Paris, a gesture that gave her music career a definitive boost.
Apart from her concerts with many of the world’s most celebrated orchestras and conductors around the, Hélène Grimaud has established herself as a socially committed artist with her membership of Musicians for Human Rights and staunch defence of the environment and endangered wildlife.
During her visit to Barcelona she will offer us a programme featuring three great composers: Beethoven, Brahms and Bach.
