Maurice Ravel Suite no. 2 from Daphnis et Chloé
Carl Orff Carmina Burana
Carl Orff won international recognition with Carmina Burana and it is undoubtedly his most famous composition. Based on a series of medieval poems bearing the same name, it was premiered in 1937. For a long time a controversial and much-criticized work, it forms part of the Trionfi - Trittico teatrale trilogy.
The voices of the Orfeón Donostiarra return to the centre stage this season, performing this cantata once again with the support of the orchestra ADDA Simfònica Alicante. Under the baton of Josep Vicent, musical and artistic director of the ensemble since 2015, they were recently nominated for a Grammy award for the album “Ritmo. The Chick Corea Symphony Tribute”.
They will be accompanied by soprano Sabrina Gárdez, sopranist Rafael Quirant, and baritone Milan Perišić.
