BCN Clàssics Christmas concert with one of the most important groups specializing in baroque music in Europe: Le Concert d’Astrée and its director Emmanuelle Haïm. A night with two proper names: Georg Friedrich Handel and Johann Sebastian Bach, and a dedicated Palau de la Música Catalana that was able to verify Haïm's complicity and solidity with the group that she founded in 2000.

The ‘Suite no. 2 of Handel's Aquatic Music' already captivated the public with the delicacy of its notes and the celebratory character it conveyed. A short 12-minute piece that followed the ‘Orchestral Suite no. 3' by maestro Bach. The rediscovery of a work with the well-known Air version covered all over the world.

'Aquatic Music' also opened the second part of the concert, with Suite no. 1, to continue with the joy of a great era and conclude with the greatness of the 'Music for the Royal Fireworks'.

Emmanuelle Haïm returned to the stage after long applause to offer us two encores in tribute to French music with some fragments of Rameau from 'Dardanus' and 'Les boreades'.

An exciting night for lovers of baroque music who were able to enjoy a complete repertoire to begin celebrating the long-awaited Christmas festivities.
