Evgeny Kissin has finally been able to return to his beloved Palau de la Música Catalana after being forced to postpone his concert for health reasons last season. And he has done it with his maximum splendor and affection from the public.
The Sonata no. 27 by Ludwig van Beethoven marked the beginning of an impeccable concert in which pieces by Frédéric Chopin were also played, such as his Nocturne no. 2; and the Fantasy for piano.
After a well-deserved break, Kissin's recital continued with the 4 Ballades of Johannes Brahms; to end with the Piano Sonata no. 2 by Sergei Prokofiev.
Evgeny Kissin wanted to thank the public for the long ovation with several encores by the same composers of the concert: Mazurka in C sharp minor op.63/3, by his beloved Chopin; Prokofiev's March; and Waltz no. 15 in A flat major op.39, by Brahms.
